We haven't really used boarding facilities and aren't regulars, we only ever want to as a last resort - but having visited Mink, we're now far happier with the thought of needing to than we were previously. I was greeted by Helen whilst the woofers waited patiently in the car, I was made to feel completely welcome. I wasn't rushed, was given every opportunity to describe both of the dogs, their behaviours, diets, likes and dislikes. The staff who helped me with the dogs and showed me to where the dogs would be for the short stay were pleasant, courteous and making a welcomed fuss of the two - comforting as they aren't regulars and therefore unsure of what to expect. The facilities were well organised/laid out, looked and smelt clean. The dogs were shown to where they would stay which had been prepared with two plastic dog beds (as they were sharing), clean blankets in each and I was allowed to throw a chew toy each in with them. I noticed that the area with the dog beds was heated which was good considering we're now fast approaching a chilly Christmas. They were set. I believe each dog or couple (if sharing) are let out 3-4 times daily for a 15-20 minute stretch of the legs on grass directly behind the building, and are fed twice daily. In a nut shell, we had a great experience with Mink Farm Kennel & Cattery. We were provided with a brief report of the dogs and how they seemed during the stay which was excellent - very reassuring to know that they had been observed by the team. We felt confident our dogs were in safe hands and looked after by the team, they returned home safe and well. We will definitely use Mink Farm again.
